Iran film awarded at Italy festival

Iranian movie ‘Beside Me’ grabs best short documentary prize at the Lucania Film Festival (LFF) in Italy.

The movie was selected as the best documentary at the Italian event, the Head of West Azarbaijan province Youth Cinema Association Ehsan Mahdian said on Saturday.

Written and directed by Zanyar Mohammadi-Nekou, the documentary focuses on introducing an Iranian village ‘Dash-band’ located in the West Azerbaijan Province.

The six-minute documentary had previously won a prize at a US International Film Festival.

The Lucania Film Festival presents the best works of the independent cinema and wants to recognize new film talents.

Some 6,500 directors presented their works to the LFF in only 6 editions.

The sections of the festival include Fiction and Animation; Audio Live Drama; Lucania Filmmakers; 48 teeth Corticomici (comedy); War News (film, reportage, photography and documentary); and Documentary Films.
